Types of Crimped Wire Mesh

Flat Top Crimped
Also known as pressed crimped, this type is made from round or profiled plain weave wire. All mesh knuckles lie on the underside, producing a robust and durable structure with a smooth surface. The flat top allows materials to move freely over the mesh, making it particularly suitable for vibrating screens.

Lock Crimped
Lock crimped mesh is a refined version of intermediate crimped mesh. Each raised wire is pressed at both ends to lock it securely in place, providing enhanced structural stability.

Double Crimped
Also referred to as plain weave, double crimped mesh differs from intermediate crimped mesh in that both warp and weft wires are woven straight. Even crimping in both directions produces a rigid, tight mesh. This type is commonly used with lighter wires to maintain tension in lightweight screens.

Intermediate Crimped
Intermediate crimped mesh comes in single and double variations. In single intermediate crimped mesh, only the weft wire is pre-crimped, while the warp wire is woven directly. In double intermediate crimped mesh, both warp and weft wires are pre-crimped before weaving, providing additional stability.

Pre-Crimped Process
Using precision machinery, wires are pre-crimped with rotary dies to ensure uniform spacing. During weaving, this guarantees that the wires lock firmly at intersections, resulting in a stable and durable mesh structure.
